WIZARD MAGIC evolves

 Wizard Magic

New for 2022
The Evolution of the “Wizard” Card Game.
To see how the original “Wizard” game was created, click on “Bulletin Boards” then scroll down to “History of Wizard Cards”.
To find out why and how “Wizard Camelot” was created visit the “Wizard Blogsite” and scroll down to ‘older posts’ and “Wizard Camelot Rationale”.
The original Wizard game continues to be the most popular version. The primary reason for this ongoing popularity is the simplicity of the rules combined with a surprising degree of strategic play. “Minutes to learn and years to master”.
The major flaw in the original game, if there is one, is that the four Wizard cards are unbeatable. The problem with “Wizard Camelot” is that the simplicity of the original game is lost in its complexity.
To both return to a simpler version while at the same time making the four Wizard cards more vulnerable “Wizard Magic” is being introduced. The new game is not planned for production but is simply being provided for online testing.
“Wizard Magic
There are no changes to any of the rules of the original “Wizard” game and no new cards are introduced. There is only one new rule:
“The 4 deuces each become a “Magical Wizard” (Magician) if played when their suit is led by another player.”
Note that the player holding the deuce card does not decide when and if it becomes a “Magician”. All 4 of the deuce cards must follow suit as normal. However, if the player has other cards of the same suit, they can be played instead of the deuce. The “Magician” is the most powerful card and wins over the four regular “Wizard” cards.

* The ultimate goal is to publish an 'Omnibus' version of Wizard that would make all three versions (Classic, Magical, Camelot) available in one 60-card deck.

WIZARD Magic

Wizard Magic in a nutshell 2

The 4 deuces each become a “Magical Wizard” if played when their suit is led.
They remain as regular deuces at all other times.
A “Magical Wizard” always wins the trick.

When a deuce of the same suit as the lead card is played it appears as one of the Wizard cards with the appropriate symbol,  ♥  ♣    ♠ , in the center and also in the upper left corner of the card.

Note: When a deuce is led it is simply a deuce.
